Mike Harrison

Founder of Green Trees Forest Schools

Mike’s love for the outdoors started at an early age. Raised in Cornwall, Mike was always outside in local woods building dens and climbing trees.

Mike joined the Armed forces at 16 and has been lucky enough to be part of expeditions in the French Alps, Germany, America, Africa and Afghanistan. This has enabled him to expand his knowledge of the outdoors in a number of challenging environments.

After leaving the Army in 2015 Mike has pursued his passion of the outdoor life completing his NCFE Level 3 in Bushcraft and Survival, EFA First Aid and BTEC level 3 Forest School Instructor

Mike volunteers with the Cricklade explorer Scouts developing their Bushcraft skills and knowledge of the outdoors. On Sundays, Mike helps lead the keystage 1+2 Sunday school at the local church he attends.

When not teaching you will find Mike with his family and dogs out and about in the woods making fires, stick houses and cooking up tasty treats.
